Yuan originated from the laboratory at the earliest.
In 2001, Gu Yu, the founder of Komjet and a national "Thousand Talents Program" expert, initiated the project for independently developing ultrasonic gas flow meters in China at the Ultrasonic Laboratory of the Department of Electronic Engineering and Information Science at the University of Science and Technology of China.
Two years later, the first prototype of an ultrasonic gas flowmeter in China was born in the laboratory, breaking the monopoly of Western countries on this technology. However, due to the limitations of the production level at that time, the first ultrasonic gas flowmeter in China was eventually entrusted to a Japanese manufacturer to be mass-produced in Yokohama in 2004.
Entering the 21st century, China's flow sensor and signal processing technologies have generally remained at the level of the analog era in the late 1980s. In the field of industrial measurement, most large and high-end instruments and equipment are almost entirely dependent on imports. Even some specialized instruments are still absent in China, and the quality of mid-to-low-end products cannot be guaranteed.

Taking the independent research and development of ultrasonic gas flow meters as an opportunity, a group of students from Tsinghua University gathered together and began to explore the creation of a high-performance domestic brand flow meter that is developed, produced and serviced in China.
In 2008, Yuan was established, officially kicking off the industrialization process of China's own brand gas flow meters.
In 2011, Yuan successfully developed and produced the world's most advanced thermal gas mass flowmeter product. It became the first Chinese enterprise to master the complete set of core technologies for constant-power thermal gas flowmeters.
In 2015, Yuan completed the overall design of the globally technologically advanced fully digital intelligent vortex flowmeter, including the production process. It achieved the domestic production of equipment, materials and chips throughout the entire R&D, production and testing process, making it possible for China to mass-produce high-performance vortex flowmeters without being restricted by foreign countries.

In 2018, Yuan invested heavily in building an "automated production and testing line for 20,000 high-performance vortex flowmeters per year", expanding production capacity to meet the rapidly growing demand for precise gas measurement in the field of intelligent manufacturing.
Thanks to the breakthroughs and perseverance of three generations of researchers, as well as 20 years of technological accumulation and refinement, now Komajie has become a globally competitive Chinese-made enterprise.
